The afternoon breeze and the sound of rustling leaves is so soothing. So here I sit, enjoying this change of weather, to pen memories of last year. Gosh!! I cant believe that - The Kitchen Affaire; is turning "One". :) Time does fly.
Last year has been very eventful. An year that changed my title from: a carefree mommy's gal to an "adorable" ("A" would not agree with this!! hi hi) wife; an IT engineer to a house-wife; and a huge move from my home in Kerala (India) to a new home in Houston (U.S.A). It feels like all of this happened in a blink of an eye. All this change wouldn't have sunk in so easily if not for my hubby dear. :)
Starting this blog was not impromptu. I used to blog during my college days. But this time I wanted a blog meant only for my cooking experiments or challenges. After settling down in our lovely apartment, I slowly started my cooking experiments. Initially I would jot all of it in a notebook. Then I decided not to and started off with a little blog where I would scribble the ingredients and methods of recipes briefly. :)
My idea on starting this blog was to - have a space where I could jot down all the recipes I wanted to try, a diary which was easily accessible and a link (with the pictures of my success/disaster recipes) that I could share with my dear ones. Nothing more than this. But, Oh boy.. Wasn't I wrong! Completely wrong. This dear blog of mine skimmed all of this misunderstanding and became more than just an e-cookbook to me. Till date "The Kitchen Affaire" has given me so much: starting from the priceless knowledge on different kinds of dishes, cuisines and cultures, to invaluable friends around blog-land. It gives me so much happiness to see that my little space has got precious readers who share their thoughts and knowledge with me. Every single comment gives me immense happiness and encouragement to continue.
Now to the part where I say thank you. Yes. Thank you so much to all my lovely friends in blog-land for all your cheering and encouragement. A big hug to my "Mom". It is her love of cooking and munching that I inherited. :)
I know I don't need to thank this person - my life-partner. "A" always encourages me to cook any thing I want and happily agrees to be the victim of all the experiments. He is my best food critic (and the technical support person). Nothing would have been possible without his support including this blog. :) Cheers to you my dear. You are my best :)
And of course, last but never ever the least, I thank GOD for making all this possible. HIS blessings are always the basic ingredient in our life.... :)
Don't you guys think this is an occasion to celebrate? :) I thought so. And whats more fun than celebrating with you guys :) So here it is...Presenting to you....
